The Montana Community Foundation is partnering with The Steele-Reese Foundation to provide grants to assist rural communities in Montana. Building Rural Communities Program benefits residents of rural towns with a population under 5,000. Smaller communities immediately adjacent to an “urban” area are not eligible. The proposal deadline is Friday, February 12, 2010. The grant will fund projects in the following areas: Rural Education, Rural Welfare, Rural Health, Rural Humanities, and Rural Conservation. The grants will range from $500 to $5,000.
