Community Foundations of Montana
Request for Proposal
Contract Grant Writer
The Community Foundations of Montana (CFM) was created in early 2012 as a resource organization to build the capacity of the seventy-four community foundations/funds currently operating in Montana.
The governing body of the CFM is a fifteen-member Council. Their work is supported by a contract staff coordinator. The Council developed a strategic plan that identified the following focus areas: philanthropy, community leadership, networking, awareness and excellence.
A comprehensive survey was completed by community foundations earlier this year, providing additional insight and documentation about the needs of community foundations in the state.
The Council is now seeking additional grant funding to support the activities outlined in the strategic plan and the priority activities identified though the survey.
Scope of Work
The Community Foundations of Montana Council seeks an experienced grant writer to:
- conduct limited research on prospects identified by the Council
- compose grant proposals to support the activities of the Council
- complete follow-up reports to funders, as needed
Applicants must have considerable experience in applying for funding from private foundations.
The selected grant writer will provide services on an hourly basis for each project, with a not-to-exceed dollar amount for the project.
Interested parties are invited to send a letter of interest, fees and supplemental information about their grantwriting and grantseeking success. Due date for submitting the letter of interest is Friday, August 1, 2014.
